Become a Librarian

Librarians are responsible for the day-to-day running of library services. You’ll organise and manage the cataloguing system in the library, as well as dealing with library users. You’ll often also be dealing with IT systems, so IT skills are important too.

As a complete Library Management System, SLiMS (Senayan Library Management System) has many features that will help libraries and librarians to do their job easily and quickly.

In addition to printed materials, libraries often lend audio- and videocassettes, CDs, and DVDs of children's books and movies. They may sponsor special programs, including story hours for youngsters (from toddlers on up), summer reading programs, and homework help. Many libraries also provide computer labs with educational games and valuable resources for teenagers, such as term paper "clinics" and information and referral services.

Librarians

A librarian is a person who works professionally in a library, providing access to information and sometimes social or technical programming to users. In addition, librarians provide instruction on information literacy.

Our Facilities

The LIA Public library has a number of facilities available to students. Some of these are bookable through the library website.

Library Zone

Zone time: 8:00am - 18:30am

The library is divided into three zones with three different levels of noise toleration

Group Study Area

Used time: 9:00am - 16am

There is a group study area upstairs in the library adjacent to the bookable study rooms. There are tables and chairs for groups to work together on projects.

Computer

Access time: 9:00am - 17am

There is an open access computer counter available in the library. These computer are available on a first come first served basis.

WIFI

Access time: 8:00am - 19am

Wifi access is available throughout the library.

60 Years of Experience

Yayasan LIA as the most well known learning institute provides educational services with languageas its main option. The foundation upholds its motto "A Small Effort for the Sake of People Education". Established on September 7, 1959, YAYASAN LIA started its first activity by opening English class for around 40 college students, a number with at present stands at approximately 70,000 students

One of the main objectives of this colouring competition is to encourage the children to express their artistic skills and creativity through art. The theme is also apt as it is very relevant to the nation’s call for unity among all which will be reflected through the eyes of these young children.

Children have an innate love of stories. Stories create magic and a sense of wonder at the world. Stories teach us about life, about ourselves and about others. Storytelling is a unique way for students to develop an understanding, respect and appreciation for other cultures, and can promote a positive attitude to people from different lands, races and religions.
